Hi friends, up next we want to discuss on the topic of Minor Pentatonic Scale vs Minor Scale. Essentially a Minor Pentatonic Scale is made up of 5 notes where as a Minor scale is made up of 7 notes. E.g.

A minor pentatonic scale

A minor scale

A B C D E F G

The 2 notes that differ are the B note and the F note.

Since learning the minor pentatonic scale is easier, most guitarist would be learing that scale first. However instead of re learning another minor scale, if you are able to see the difference between the 2 scales, it becomes a add on of notes instead of a totally new scale.

In this video, we explain how to play the 2 scales and we share a simple pentatonic lick that looks like a box. Finally we end off with a simple demo of the application of the licks and scales.
